Find out what we do
Mission Scranton is a non-profit organization, serving Scranton, PA since 1994. Our focus is empowering children and youth in low-income housing communities to navigate the challenges of life through holistic development; addressing both physical and spiritual needs.
On Monday nights we invest into the lives of kids in Valley View Terrace. We pray, play, and learn together from God’s Word. We provide a safe environment where we can positively influence kids and share Truth that can have a long-term impact.
On Tuesday nights we provide a highly relational environment to invest into the lives of youth. We have fun, food, fellowship and study God’s Word together.
This is our evangelistic group that primarily builds relationships and shares God’s Truth with the adult residents in the community. This group also networks with local churches and services to meet needs and empower the community we work in.
On Wednesday nights we help the kids and teens with their homework and teach them various skills such as how to use professional cameras, drawing, writing, etc. Our desire is using training and support to elevate them towards a brighter future.
On Sunday we give children, teens, and parents rides to a local church where they are involved in different programs. We teach them how to take notes, interact with people from the community, and serve at church. Afterwards we enjoy a meal together.

We don’t build relationships to build programs. We build programs to build positively influencing relationships. As we enter a community, we walk alongside the people and do life with them. We connect them into our programs, church, and other local resources to help them live victoriously within their challenging circumstances.
We mentor children and youth through life’s challenges by providing a safe environment where they can develop spiritually and in their physical abilities. We teach them faith-based truth, counsel them and provide resources for learning and for developing their skills.
Our goal as an organization is not to be the source of life and hope. We point people to Jesus Christ to be their savior who empowers them with a new, victorious life. We strive to provide the knowledge, skills, and opportunities that will move children, youth, and adults from surviving to thriving. We desire to be a high impact positive influencer in their community.
